DeSoLabs Hackathon Entry

November 8th, 2022

I’ve been on Deso close to 600 days. Like everyone else still here, I see the potential and want it to succeed.

There are many differing views on what it will take. Developers, developers, developers. Users, users, users. Creators, creators, creators. Probably a few other chants have been heard.

The thing that I think is pivotal is Content!

Creators create content, content attracts users, users attract developers.

So you start with Creators right? Well it’s hard to attract creators when the number of users is low, and since the number of users is low, it’s hard to attract developers who build the tools that creators need.

Sounds familiar right? Which comes first the chicken or the egg?

How about we skip a step…

Creators are already creating a lot of content, but they aren’t posting it on Deso because, you know, there aren’t a lot of users here and it takes time that busy creators don’t have.

What if there was a tool that made it easy to post content they already share elsewhere to Deso. Like crazy easy, almost autopilot.

Bloggers posting to their blogs, YouTubers posting videos, Podcasters releasing new episodes could all be great content posted on chain. More content would attract more users, more users would attract more developers. More developers means more tools for creators & users.

More content means users on Deso have more to discuss, diamond and promote, which means more transactions for the chain to record. More transaction means Deso has more value.

That's all I've got to share for now, it’s a hackathon, I’m working out a lot of the details as I go.

I'll be posting more details on chain, just follow for updates!
